Stray
Dogs Adventure Travel
Marshall
Ulrich and his wife, Heather, have created Stray
Dogs Adventure Travel with a Purpose, Inc.
- a non-profit corporation that offers trips around the world
organized to provide financial support to their selected charity,
the Religious Teachers Filippini.
In
June 2006 Marshall lead the first trip offered by Stray Dogs
Adventure Travel, the Kilimanjaro/Safari Benefit Expedition.
Read below to find out more about Stray Dogs Adventure
Travel with a Purpose, the 2006 Kilimanjaro /Safari Benefit
Expedition, and upcoming trips.
The mission of Stray Dogs Adventure Travel is to provide financial
support to
the Religious Teachers Filippini, a group of Sisters that
promote the
dignity of women and children by providing an education.
We provide this support by donating the profits from adventure
travel packages organized for active, generous, and charitable
people like you!
The Kilimanjaro/Safari Benefit Expedition,
June 2006 was a climb up Mount Kilimanjaro and an African
safari that provided a unique opportunity for people
just like you
to combine their active outdoor interests and their
generous spirit. The trip raised thousands of dollars for
the Religious Teachers Filippini, making a difference in the
lives of women and children around the world, and providing
the experience of a lifetime to members of the expedition.
To
see some amazing photographs from Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti,
Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater, and read a report from
one member of the expedition, please see Jo Ann Beine's Amazing
View trip report on Google pages. Many, many thanks to
Jo Ann for allowing Stray Dogs Adventure Travel to link to
her wonderful trip report!
For
some additional comments about the expedition, and Marshall's
other mountain guiding trips, see the Testimonials
page.

The Religious Teachers
Filippini
The Sisters of the Religious Teachers work to promote the
dignity of women and children in some of the poorest countries
in the world, and here at home, by providing an education
to those who previously had limited opportunities and choices
in their lives. Their motto to "Go and Teach" extends
even further than education by providing the necessities of
life: water, food, shelter, and clothing. One hundred
percent of the money donated by Stray Dogs Adventure
Travel will go directly to the women and children, as the
Sisters do not use any of the money for salaries, overhead,
or their own living expenses.
The Institute of the Religious Teachers Filippini was founded
by Lucy Filippini and Cardinal Mark Anthony Barbarigo who,
in 1692, founded schools to promote the dignity of womanhood
and help influence a healthy family life. Today the Sisters
continue Saint Lucy's mission of teaching reading and writing
to the poor and empowering women through education.
It
was Saint Lucy's wish to "be present in every corner
of the earth." By joining an Adventure Travel trip you
can help Marshall carry Saint Lucy's message to beautiful
and unique parts of the world!
Fundraising
for YOUR Trip
Marshall
and Heather suggest that you do your own fundraising to pay
for your Adventure Travel trip, since all profits will be
donated to the Religious Teachers Filippini, a registered
501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the U.S.
To
raise funds for your trip, simply have people write a check
payable to Stray Dogs Adventure Travel. Make sure your supporters
note that the donation is for your participation in a specific
Adventure Travel trip.
For tax purposes, 30 percent of your trip price will go to
charity. If there are additional profits beyond 30 percent
of the price of your trip, these will also be donated to charity!
